In Automate a Restaurant, you start by doing everything by hand — planting, harvesting, cooking, and serving. Automation is the whole point of the game: as you earn money, you unlock drones that take over these jobs so your restaurant keeps producing without you standing at every station. The Three Drone Roles
Automation is handled by drones split across three functional roles (the in-game UI names may differ):

| Harvest | Picks ripe crops and delivers them to storage. |
| Cook | Batches recipes at assigned cooking stations. |
| Serve | Moves finished food to customers or counters. |
Two things to keep in mind: drones only run recipes you have already unlocked, and they do not choose crops, recipes, or station placement for you. You design the line; they execute it.
Chaining Them Into a Production Line
Think of your restaurant like a factory floor. Set it up so work flows in one direction:
Harvest → Cook → Serve.
Leave clear hand-off zones between stages so drones don't jam up trying to occupy the same space. The smoother the hand-offs, the less throughput you lose to traffic.
Add Automation in the Right Order
Do not buy all three drones at once. Add each one when it becomes your bottleneck:
- Harvest drone — when your field is too big to pick by hand fast enough.
- Cook drone — after you have locked in one or two profitable dishes worth batching.
- Serve drone — when your cooking outpaces your own walking speed to the counter.
Drones remove walking time, which is the first real bottleneck once you understand recipes.
Scale One Drone Before Duplicating
Upgrade the speed and capacity of one reliable drone before buying a second in the same role. A good benchmark: only add another drone when the current one is busy more than 80% of a rush cycle. Duplicating too early wastes currency on units that sit idle.

If you share a restaurant with friends, remember that permissions may restrict who can rebind drones — agree on who manages automation so assignments don't get reshuffled mid-rush.
